Multicultural Conference

Conference Proceedings: 2007

The 13th annual Multicultural Conference was held on March 8, 2007 in the University Union at Towson University. The theme selected, Stepping Inside: Reflections on Diversity at Maryland’s Metropolitan University, marked the beginning of Towson University’s long-term campus-wide Reflective Process for Diversity. A wide range of topics and the talent and commitment of this year’s presenters allowed for a day filled with excitement and opportunities for learning experiences. A record 400+ people were in attendance at this year's conference.

Based on the “Now is the Time: Meeting the Challenge for a Diverse Academy” document published by a joint task force of the AAC&U and NASULGC, the reflective process seeks to engage all campus stakeholders – administrators, faculty, staff, and students – to reflect upon personal approaches to diversity, develop and implement diversity goals, assess our progress, and develop an on-going dialogue about diversity.
