Joanna Greenood

Michael Jothen Professor of Music is an active choral and general music educator, composer, guest conductor and clinician, co-author of the McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. textbook series Music and You and Share the Music and author of articles in "The Choral Journal,"" Music Educators Journal,"" Letters," and "NASSP Bulletin," Dr. Jothen has shared with choral and general music educators, church musicians, and young people throughout the United States and Europe. Currently he serves as Past-President of the National Board of Directors of Choristers Guild, Dallas, Texas and as Music Director of the Senior Choir of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Baltimore. In addition to receiving commissions for choral compositions, he has earned awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for his contributions to the choral repertoire. Dr. Jothen is a graduate of St. Olaf College, Case-Western Reserve University, and the Ohio State University. Teaching areas: Graduate Coordinator, Seminar in Current Trends in Music and Music Education, MUED 601, Choral Workshop in Elementary and Secondary School Music, MUED 617 (summer only), Seminar in Choral(Vocal) Music, MUED 662.

Martha McCoy - adjunct professor of music specializing in Reading Certification for Arts Educators: Levels I and II.

Alicia Mueller - is Associate Professor of Music at Towson University specializing in Early Childhood/Elementary vocal-general music education and Orff Techniques. Before coming to Towson she was Associate Professor of Music and Coordinator of the Music Education Division at Washington State University, Pullman, WA. Dr. Mueller is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University, University of Illinois and Arizona State University. She has extensive public school teaching experience in Northern Virginia and Arizona. She currently serves as the Maryland Music Educators Association Collegiate Chapter Advisor. Teaching areas: Elementary/Early childhood vocal/general music, Orff Techniques, Movement and music, Multiculturalism integration/collaboration, Student Teacher Supervision/Observation; Graduate MUED 635: Theory, Pedagogy, Curriculum Development in Dalcroze, Orff and Kodaly.

Thomas Parente  Ed.D. candidate, Teachers College, Columbia University. Mr. Parente holds a Dalcroze License from The Long School of Music. Teaching area: Dalcroze Practices, MUED 632 (summer only).

Lou Persic

Paul Rardin Holds graduate degrees in conducting (DMA) and composition (MM) from the University of Michigan. He has studied choral and orchestral conducting with Theodore Morrison, Jerry Blackstone, Gustav Meier and Hellmuth Rilling. Rardin has enjoyed critical and popular acclaim for his concerts with the University Chorale, Choral Society and Chamber Singers, both in the Greater Baltimore Area and on the East Coast. Rardin is highly sought after as a clinician, guest conductor and adjudicator throughout the region, and has been appointed to serve as Collegiate Repertoire and Standards Chair of the Maryland Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Teaching area: Choral conducting and Repertoire (summer only).

Dana Rothlisberger Director of Bands and conductor of the Symphonic and Marching Bands. Served as Assistant Director of Bands at The University of Arizona. Bands under his direction have received high acclaim and superior ratings in numerous festivals and have performed at state and divisional conventions. His professional memberships include the Maryland Band Directors Association, Maryland Music Educators Association, College Band Directors National Association, and the National Band Association, (he is currently Maryland State Chairman for NBA). He just finished a term as Northeast District Governor for Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from East Texas State University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from The University of Maryland. He is in demand as an adjudicator and clinician. His biography is included in the 1989-90 volume of Who's Who in American Education and the 48th edition (1993) of Who's Who in America. He received a Faculty Excellence Award from Towson University in 1997. Teaching area: Research Methods in Music Education, MUED 695.

Jeanne Ruviella-Knorr Is emeritus professor of Music Education at Towson Universiuty and a Ph.D. candidate, University of Maryland. She holds an M.M. from the University of Southern California, a Dalcroze, Orff, and Kodaly Certificate from The Manhattan School of Music and a Dalcroze Certificate from The Longy School of Music. Teaching areas: Dalcroze-Orff-Kodaly for the Classroom I, MUED 630 (summer only), Theory, Pedagogy and Curriculum Development in Dalcroze, Orff and Kodaly, MUED 635 (summer only).

James Wharton - adjunct professor of music specializing in Steel Band and Technology. Mr. Wharton is a regionally known leader in this field having presented numerous clinics and sessions on these topics within the Mid-Atlantic region. He currently is instrumental music education instructor at Catonsville High School in Baltimore County, MD.
