We are recognized as one of the finest music education programs in Maryland and indeed in the region. We have trained more music students in careers in education than any other institution in the state of Maryland. If you attended school in Maryland, chances are you studied with a music teacher trained at Towson University. Our past accomplishments, however, only spur us on to greater excellence. Our program continues to grow and change to better equip our students for careers in the 21st century.
Our programs in performance and composition draw outstanding students who go on to successful careers in music. These students are attracted to our faculty who are recognized throughout the nation for their performance and research activities.

Our new building features many state-of-the-art facilities including a recording studio and keyboard lab. A wonderful new 150-seat recital hall is available for Department of Music concerts.
