Julia Cooke

Julia CookeSoprano Julia Cooke maintains an active performing career in opera, concert, and recital work. Recent operatic performances include roles with the Baltimore Opera, Baltimore Concert Opera, Sarasota Opera, and L'Opera Piccola in Chicago. On the concert stage, highlights include appearances with Anchorage Symphony, Maryland Symphony, and Long Bay Symphony.  A specialist in French Art Song, Ms. Cooke has appeared in recital in Nice, France and in New York City, among many other venues.  She has been a district winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Awards, regional winner of the MacAllister Awards, as well as the recipient of multiple grants from the Sarasota Opera. Ms. Cooke holds a Master of Music degree in opera from Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and psychology from the University of Rochester.  In addition to her position at Towson University, she is currently on the voice faculty at Morgan State University and McDaniel College.
