Leneida Crawford

Picture of Leneida CrawfordLeneida Crawford teaches applied voice and diction and is the assistant director of Music for the Stage. Dr. Crawford has appeared with the Santa Fe Opera, Maryland Opera Studio, Music from Bear Valley and the Eastern Opera. She made her New York solo debut at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall with Musica Sacra conducted by Richard Westenberg. Solo assignments soon followed with the New York Philharmonic and the New England Symphonic Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.

Other orchestra engagements include the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and the Cayuga Chamber Symphony. She has recorded on the VOX label and has appeared on CBS and PBS. Dr. Crawford is well known to Washington and Baltimore audiences, having appeared as soloist at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Kennedy Center with The Paul Hill Chorale, Washington Oratorio Society and Choral Arts Society of Washington. She has also performed with the Fairfax Symphony, the Handel Choir of Baltimore, the Virginia Chamber Orchestra and the Smithsonian Chamber Players.
