Karin Orenstein received a Bachelor of Music from Shenandoah University and a Masters of Music from The Catholic University of America concentrating her studies on piano pedagogy and music theory.  Her piano teachers include Karen Walker, Chiara Selby, Marilyn Neeley and Thomas Mastroianni.  She has studied music theory under Steven Strunk and Andrew Simpson.  She is currently finishing her Doctorate of Musical Arts at The Catholic University of America.

Karin Orenstein is an active member of the National Music Teachers Association and the Howard County Music Teachers Association.
