Frank Schreiner is serving as an adjunct professor in the Music Education Department. Mr. Schreiner will be teaching elementary instrumental methods and Marching Band Techniques for the fall semester and will be supervising student teachers in the spring. He recently retired after 34 years as a public school music educator in Pennsylvania. During his career he was the band director at Wilson (West Lake) High School from 1973-1976 and band director of Red Land High School in Lewisberry, PA from 1976-99. Most recently he served as the band director at Allen Middle School in Camp Hill, PA. During his tenure, his bands were recognized on a state, regional and national championship level and consistently won superior awards. Most notable were the Atlantic Coast Championship awards, national awards won at St. Petersburg Festival of States and the Fiesta Bowl National Band Championships in Phoenix, Arizona as well as being Pennsylvania's representative to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Red Land Band was also featured on the ABC sponsored news program "On the Inside" should on the Discovery Channel and the Travel Channel. He has also been the Music Department Chairperson for the West Shore School District for fifteen years, overseeing the coordination of a 25 member music department.
Mr. Schreiner has served as an adjudicator, clinician and guest conductor in Pennsylvania at various festivals and events. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, and has served as an officer of the Cumberland County Music Educators Association. He maintains a private music studio where he teaches Clarinet and Saxophone. He has been recognized numerous times in the Who's Who of American Educators and is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is active in church music ministry in his local church as well as being a member of the El Shaddai Singers, a large multi-denominational Christian Choir and Orchestra in the Harrisburg Area. He holds his degree from Mansfield University and has done additional graduate work at Peabody Conservatory, West Chester University and Wilkes College.
Mr. Schreiner lives in New Cumberland, PA with his wife of 33 years, has two grown children and three grandchildren.
