Zoltan Szabo
Picture of Zoltan SzaboZoltan Szabo is former concertmaster of the Tonhalle Orchestra (Zurich, Switzerland) and the Calgary Philharmonic (Canada). He has been soloist with these and other orchestras under the direction of Nadia Boulanger, Arpad Joo, Victor Borge and Charles Dutoit. He has appeared in recitals, chamber music concerts, recording and radio broadcasts in the United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Panama, Indonesia and the Philippines. Dr. Szabo has given master classes and adjudicated competitions in many countries including the Philippines, Panama, Indonesia and Canada. He studied at the Bartók Conservatory, The Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and Indiana University where he earned his doctorate.

His teachers include Robert Gerle, Peter Rybar, Franco Gulli and the renowned Josef Gingold. His chamber music coaches include Janos Starker, Menahem Pressler and William Primrose. As a teacher and conductor, Dr. Szabo has been affiliated with Indiana State University, Mount Royal College, University of Calgary, the Baltimore School of the Arts and Towson University, where he is also a member of the Baltimore Trio.
