PURPOSE:
The DAYTIME STUDENT RECITAL SERIES provides an
opportunity for music students to perform their repertoire in front of an
audience and serves as a vehicle for developing performance skills.
Performing in DAYTIME STUDENT RECITALS can lead to greater confidence in
Junior, Senior, and Graduate recitals and to performing in general.
PLACE AND TIME:
DAYTIME STUDENT RECITALS are scheduled in the Recital Hall at the Noon hour,
on the following Fridays:
- Oct 19
- Oct 26
- Nov 9
- Nov 16
- Nov 30
- Dec 7
REQUEST PROCEDURE:
- Complete the Daytime Student Recital form on the Music Department website
(Click Here). You'll need Adobe Acrobat to view them (download
it here). Once open, you can type the information directly on the
form.
- Print out the complete form, sign it and ask your applied teacher or
ensemble coordinator to sign the RECITAL REQUEST FORM.
- The RECITAL REQUEST FORMS are to be placed in the Ms. Barczyk's mailbox in the main office.
- The deadline for submitting a DAYTIME STUDENT RECITAL FORM is NO LATER
THAN SEVEN DAYS BEFORE THE REQUESTED RECITAL DATE. Performers are
scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- In order to accommodate as many students as possible, there is a 10 MINUTE
performance time limit. Special permission can be given for longer time
if the recital time is not filled.
- The program will be posted two or three days before the recital date.
PERFORMANCE PROCEDURE:
- RECITAL DRESS CODE: PLEASE LOOK NEAT!
- It is your responsibility to arrive on time and prior to your scheduled
performance. The recital will start promptly at 12 Noon. If you
are not there when you are supposed to be, you will miss your chance to
perform.
- Tell your stage manager or faculty member in charge what you need (piano
lid closed, short stick, full stick; music stand, chair, etc.).
- Please remain quiet while others are performing.
ATTENDANCE:
DAYTIME STUDENT RECITALS are open to the TU campus community and visitors
from the general public. All students are encouraged to attend these
recitals in support of their fellow students. |
