Natalie Mannix

Natalie Mannix, assistant professor of trombone, teaches trombone and euphonium lessons, brass methods and coordinates the brass chamber music program. Mannix is principal trombonist with the Delaware Symphony and has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, the Harrisburg Symphony, National Philharmonic and the Washington Opera House Orchestras. Before coming to Towson, she performed with the United States Navy Band in Washington, DC for nine years as a trombonist in the ceremonial/concert band and brass quintet. She has performed as guest artist and clinician at colleges and universities throughout the United States, including the Midwest Band and Orchestra clinic in Chicago, the International Women's Brass Conference and the Eastern Trombone Workshop. She has also performed with several regional orchestras and brass ensembles, taught as an adjunct faculty member at Shepherd and Georgetown Universities, and served on the faculty of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.

Mannix's recent performing opportunities included recording two chamber music CDs: the grammy-nominated Interchange: Concertos by Rodrigo and Assad with the Delaware Symphony and the LA Guitar Quartet; and Shadowcatcher: Music for Winds, Brass and Percussion.

Mannix received her Bachelor of Music at the University of Michigan, her Master of Music at The Juilliard School, and her Doctor of Musical Arts at Catholic University. Natalie is a performing artist for Edwards Instrument Company.
