As a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago she participated in MusiCorps, an education and music advocacy program for the city, and while living in Switzerland she taught horn at the Zurich International School and played extra with the Zurich Opera Orchestra. As a soloist, Tung won the Colorado College Chamber Music Festival concerto competition where she performed Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 3. Past summer engagements include Spoleto Festival USA, National Repertory Orchestra, and Music Academy of the West. Tung completed her DMA at The Ohio State University and holds horn performance degrees from Rice and DePaul Universities. Her teachers include world renowned Dale Clevenger, William VerMeulen, Oto Carrillo, Jon Boen, David Griffin, and Bruce Henniss. She is on the Marrowstone Music Festival faculty and was previously the horn instructor at Olivet Nazarene University and Rice University’s Preparatory Program. Tung, who lives in Baltimore with her husband and cats Ansel and Blue, enjoys cooking and running during her free time. At Towson University she teaches Brass Methods.
