Finck completed her education at Boston University's College of Fine Arts, where she studied with Eric Ruske and James Sommerville. After receiving her bachelor's degree, she attended the Tanglewood Music Center for two summers and also studied with another important teacher, William Barnewitz, of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

In her spare time, Finck enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and telling jokes.
