Graduate Placement Examination
in Music History & Theory 

 

THE PLACEMENT EXAMINATION: A Placement Examination in Music History and Music Theory is required for enrollment in Graduate Studies in Music. The examination is given three times a year during Audition days. The 2015 Audition days are:

 

  • Saturday, January 10*
  • Saturday, February 7*
  • Saturday, March 7

 

* in case of snow, audition dates will be: January 17 and February 14

Music

 

The Music Theory Placement Exam will be given in the Aural Skills Lab (Center for the Arts, room # 3092) between at 12-2pm. The History and Literature Exam will be given at 2 pm (room # TBA) and will last for a total of approximately three (3) hours.

Preparing for the Graduate Placement Exams is extremely important. Please read your graduate handbook thoroughly and consult the following two websites in your preparation:
