The music major is a screened major. Admission to the music major is granted only by the
department, contingent upon a performance audition. Admission to the university does not guarantee acceptance as a music major or minor.
Continuing in the music major is contingent on a number of evaluative processes established by the department. Proper course planning and regular meetings with advisers are key to timely completion of the programs in four years. Students are responsible for determining the progress and completion of their degree programs.
If the decision is made to postpone an audition day, we will post an announcement on our department website. We will also leave a recorded voice message on 410-704-2839 and 410-704-2836.
If an audition day is postponed, you will automatically be scheduled for the following Saturday. Arrival time and general procedures outlined in your original confirmation letter will remain the same. You will not receive another confirmation. Please arrive at the same time and place as originally scheduled. It is your responsibility to notify Mary Ann Criss in the Department of Music (mcriss@towson.edu or 410-704-2836) if you cannot make the rescheduled date.
University closing announcements are posted on the Towson University homepage, and recorded messages can be heard on 410-704-NEWS.
