We welcome students interested in majoring in jazz/commercial composition to apply for acceptance to the degree program. In order to assess your background and better understand your compositional goals, you must complete an audition in addition to submitting the Towson University application and Department of Music application.
Additional Admission Requirements for the Jazz/Commercial CompositionConcentration
Candidates for the Bachelor of Music in jazz/commercial composition must display evidence of promise as a creative composer. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in at least one area of performance through an audition in their primary performance area.
Composition candidates must submit a portfolio of completed compositions by October 1 for consideration for the spring semester and by February 1 for the fall semester.
