MUSIKGARTEN is a curriculum that provides goals, objectives and materials appropriate for children from infant to age 9. Musikgarten was developed by experts in early-childhood music. Much attention is given to how children learn and how to nurture musical and general development. The Music Preparatory will begin the fall semester with a limited offering of the Musikgarten curricula: Music Makers: At Home in the World
* Training the ear. * Coordinating body and voice. * Establishing fundamental musical skills. * Dramatizing folk tales. Benefits to the Child: - Establishes foundation for music literacy. Music Makers: Around the World Part 2 of a sequential two-year program. * Singing, ear training, playing instruments, ensemble work and creative movement. * Children explore the music of cultures from around the world: Amerindian, African-American, British and German. * More focus on writing and reading music.

Music Makers: At the Keyboard Year 1
* Features a variety of activities which lay the foundation for success at the keyboard. * Builds on songs children have come to
love. * Approaches music reading both aurally and visually.
