Student Writers' Workshop Summer Program
Do you love to write?
Do you wait all day to find a little spare time to write?
Do you like to talk about writing and share your work with others?

If so, the Maryland Writing Project’s Student Writers’ Workshop is for you. Students who love to write will expand and develop their writing of choice in a supportive and creative environment.
This stimulating writing workshop on the Towson University campus will help you develop your poetry, short stories, novels, or scripts. You will have the opportunity to work in a professional writer’s environment, and, like a “real” writer, you will choose your own topics, have free writing time, work at your own pace, refine your work, and decide which pieces to publish.

The Student Writers’ Workshop is divided into groups based on age. Two Maryland Writing Project Teacher-Consultants, experienced teachers and writers themselves, will work with each group, sharing their expertise through direct writing instruction and guided individual and peer-group writing conferences. The ratio of student writers to teachers is no more than 12 to 1. Following the end of this three-week workshop, your writing will be published in an anthology that will be sent to your home.

So come to the Towson University campus or one of our other sites for this creative writing experience. For three weeks, read, write, and share your writing in an atmosphere of artistic freedom, intellectual challenge, and fun.
