Maryland National Guard Forums on
Veterans Reintegration
Caring for Service Members, Veterans, and Their Families:
A Summit for Healthcare Providers
The Maryland National Guard and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene offer a unique opportunity for behavioral and primary care professionals to come together and explore multifaceted issues unique to reintegrating veterans. The goal of the conference is to enhance the awareness, knowledge and clinical skills of Maryland’s behavioral health and primary care professionals to assess and treat our military members, veterans and their families.
The conference will:
- Target behavioral health and primary care professionals serving military members, veterans and their families.
- Encourage all Maryland behavioral health and primary care providers to extend their practice to military members, veterans and their families.
- Provide participants understanding and appreciation of military culture and how it impacts care.
- Promote use of evidence-based best practices in behavioral health and primary care.
The Adjutant General, Brigadier General James A. Adkins, has initiated the planning for the conference in an effort to reach the communities where veterans live, work and go to school. Funding and support from the Maryland National Guard, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Johns Hopkins University, the United States and Maryland Departments of Veterans Affairs and Towson University provides the entire forum with no charge to the participants.
Please view the Conference Agenda for information on CEU and CME accreditation.
