EDUCATORS FORUM ON VETERANS ISSUES

The Maryland National Guard and Towson University offer a unique opportunity for educators throughout the state to be informed about issues affecting Maryland's returning veterans in post-secondary education.

The goals of the conference are to raise awareness of the challenges newly returned veterans may face as they attempt to adjust to college and to encourage the development of institutional approaches to assist our student veterans. Institutional teams from across the state were encouraged to participate in the conference, which featured sessions from the Maryland National Guard, the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges, national experts and authors, local universities and community colleges and veteran student panelists.

The Adjutant General, Brigadier General James A. Adkins, has initiated the planning and funding for the conference in an effort to reach the communities where veterans live, work and go to school. This funding provides the entire forum with no charge to the participants.

The conference presentations and vide archives of each session will be posted to this web site within the next few weeks.  Please forward the link to this web site to all interested faculty and staff.
