This professional education conference is part of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Maryland National Guard’s vision for a Maryland that is informed and equipped to support Service Members, Veterans, and their Families. Conference participants will have the opportunity to attend sessions on:
Post Traumatic Stress
Traumatic Brain Injury
Reintegration Issues including: School, Employment Marriage, & Family Life
Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, 500 Glen Avenue, Salisbury, MD
Who Should Attend:
Behavioral health and primary health care providers, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, substance abuse counselors, and occupational therapists. Members of the Clergy and others currently working with or who want to work with Service Members, Veterans, and their Families are also welcome.
Baltimore Psychological Association is an approved APA sponsor and will award six (6) CE's to psychologists completing the entire program. Variable credit for attendance is not available.
The Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners certifies that this program meets the criteria for six (6.0) credit hours of Category I continuing education for social workers and associates licensed in Maryland.
Mental Health Association is also recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. NBCC Provider #5796.

There is a $30 registration cost in advance and $40 at the door to attend and registration is required.

The Maryland National Guard sponsors a series of forums with Towson University. These forums are a part of the Guard’s vision for a Maryland that is informed and equipped to support returning veterans. Three seminars were offered in 2010 in the areas of higher education, business leaders and health professions.
