On behalf of President Schatzel and Provost and Executive Vice President Chandler, the Office of the Provost is delighted to share an update with the campus community about the university’s accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

Earlier this year, the Towson University Middle States Periodic Review Report (PRR) Committee completed a rigorous review that included extensive retrospective and prospective analyses of TU, as well as responses to recommendations within our self-study report that was written following the Commission’s decennial comprehensive evaluation five years ago.

MSCHE voted to accept the PRR Committee’s recommendation and reaffirm TU’s accreditation during their November session. There were many positive comments in support of TU’s programs, policies, procedures, and practices. As a university-wide effort, many people worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this review. We offer our sincere thanks especially to Aileen Trainer, Ph.D.; Gail Gasparich, Ph.D.; Anne Greene; and members of the Middle States PRR Steering Committee. Additionally, we are grateful for the support provided by the University Assessment Council (UAC).

This news further validates the strength and success of our community.  Moving forward, we will remain diligent in our efforts to surpass the standards and expectations set by MSCHE.
