Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) & Reporting of

Child Abuse/ Neglect Training

The Department of Education and the Office of Civil Rights have mandated that institutions take appropriate steps to provide a safer environment for students on campus. A required component of this mandate is training for faculty and staff.

In this training, the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity has outlined learning objectives, definitions, responses, and ways to report incidents of sexual harassment, sexual abuse,

dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and child abuse and/or neglect. Although child abuse/neglect is not a part of Title IX, it is important to provide this information. Completion of a quiz is required at the conclusion of the training.

To access the training, please log into Blackboard with your user name and password.

Note: In order for Blackboard to function properly, please be sure to use Firefox or Chrome on PC and Safari on Mac as your browser. It is also necessary to have the latest Java installed. If you are using a campus computer that you don't have administrative rights on, use Software Center to update Java. If you experience any problems related to computer accessibility, fill out a service request online at techhelp.towson.edu.  Please indicate that you are having problems with the Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and Reporting of Child Abuse/Neglect Training.
