Towson University is inviting applications for a full time 10-month tenure track faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level beginning August of 2009. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate instruction, academic advising, scholarly research activities, clinical supervision, and university and community service. Applicants with expertise in these areas will be given preference: child articulation and language disorders, autism, language and literacy. Requirements: Earned doctorate in speech language pathology or related field, ASHA certification in speech language pathology. ABD candidates are eligible, all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2010. CCC-SLP, and eligibility for Maryland licensure preferred. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. This position is contingent on the availability of funds at the time of hire.
The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology and Deaf Studies has 20 full-time faculty and over 260 undergraduate majors across two baccalaureate degree programs: Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and Deaf Studies. The department's graduate programs enroll over 95 students in the master's degree program in speech language pathology, and 40 students in the Audiology clinical doctorate program. In addition, the department is responsible for administering the Towson University Center for Speech, Language and Hearing that serves over 1,000 clients each year in the greater metropolitan Baltimore community.
