Towson University's growing Department of Accounting invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor rank for Fall 2009 or Fall 2010. All areas of specializations will be considered, however, a specialization in auditing is highly desirable.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D./DBA or equivalent in accounting, or a Ph.D./DBA in a related area with professional certification in accounting. Applicants must also provide evidence of the potential for quality teaching and scholarly research. The position(s) require a teaching load of nine credit hours per semester for the first three years. Salary is competitive. Review of applications will begin immediately, and will continue until the positions have been filled. This position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
The College of Business and Economics is accredited by the AACSB for both its business and accounting programs. It conducts undergraduate business programs with majors/concentrations in an array of fields, and jointly offers an MBA program and an M.S. in Accounting and Business Advisory Services program with the University of Baltimore. The College also has affiliated foreign business programs in several countries. The Department of Accounting offers both undergraduate and master’s level graduate programs in accounting, and is the only AACSB accredited accounting program in the University System of Maryland.
