The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology & Deaf Studies at Towson University invites applications for a full time 10 month tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level beginning August 15, 2010. Responsibilities include primarily doctoral instruction, scholarly research activities, supervision of Au.D., student thesis projects, academic advising, and university and community service. Applicants with expertise in the following areas will be given preference: medical audiology, genetics, pharmacology, vestibular diagnosis and rehabilitation, and/or anatomy and physiology of the central auditory system. However, other areas of specialization will also be considered. Requirements: Ph. D. in audiology (A.B.D. candidates are eligible but all degree requirements must be completed by Feb 1, 2011); certification as an Audiologist and eligible for Maryland licensure. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. This position is contingent on availability of funds at the time of hire.

The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology and Deaf Studies currently has 20 full-time faculty and over 260 undergraduate majors across two baccalaureate degree programs: Speech Pathology, Audiology, and Deaf Studies. The department’s graduate programs enroll over 95 students in the master’s degree program in speech language pathology, and over 40 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program.
