The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology & Deaf Studies at Towson University invites applications for a full time 10 month tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level beginning August, 2013.

Position Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate class instruction, scholarly research activities, academic advising, and university, community, or professional service. In addition, responsibilities may include supervision of clinical services, and mentoring writing abilities in undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants with expertise in the following areas will be given preference: child language disorders, speech sound disorders, autism, and augmentative and alternative communication. However, other areas of specialization will also be considered.

Qualifications:
Ph. D. or Ed.D. in speech language pathology or related field (A.B.D. candidates are eligible but all degree requirements must be completed by Feb 1, 2013); certification as a Speech Language Pathologist and eligible for Maryland licensure. Proficiency in American Sign Language is not required, but any level of ASL ability will be viewed positively. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience.

The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology and Deaf Studies currently has 23 full-time faculty who teach over 500 undergraduate majors across two baccalaureate degree programs: Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and Deaf Studies. The department’s graduate programs enroll over 80 students in the master’s degree program in Speech Language Pathology, and over 40 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program. In addition, the department is responsible for administering the Towson University Speech, Language and Hearing Center that serves over 1,000 clients each year in the greater metropolitan Baltimore community. The SLH Center will move into our new interdisciplinary clinical building in Fall 2012.
