The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology & Deaf Studies at Towson University invites applications for a full time 10 month tenure track Faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning August 15, 2013.

Primary responsibilities include undergraduate and doctoral level class instruction, scholarly research activities, supervision of Au.D. student thesis projects, academic advising, and university, community, or professional service. In addition, responsibilities may include supervision of clinical services, and mentoring writing abilities in undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants with expertise in the following areas will be given preference: aural rehabilitation and hearing aids. However, other areas of specialization will also be considered.

Ph. D. in audiology (A.B.D. candidates are eligible but all degree requirements must be completed by Feb 1, 2014); certification as an Audiologist and eligible for Maryland licensure. Proficiency in American Sign Language is not required, but any level of ASL ability will be viewed positively. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience.

About the Program:

The Department of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology and Deaf Studies currently has 23 full-time faculty who teach over 500 undergraduate majors across two baccalaureate degree programs: Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and Deaf Studies. The department’s graduate programs enroll over 80 students in the master’s degree program in Speech Language Pathology, and over 40 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program. In addition, the department is responsible for administering the Towson University Speech, Language and Hearing Center that serves over 1,000 clients each year in the greater metropolitan Baltimore community. The SLH Center will move into our new interdisciplinary clinical building in Fall 2012.
