Position:
The Department of
History at Towson University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track
assistant professorship in Sub-Saharan African history. Teaching load is 3/3
during the first three years. The candidate will be required to develop and
teach a two-semester African survey and upper-level undergraduate courses in
African history focusing on the area of specialty. The candidate may also be
asked to teach World history.
Qualifications:
ABDs may apply, but Ph.D. is required
when position commences in August 2012. Regional specialization and time period
open. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in teaching and
scholarly potential. Applicants must possess a strong commitment to excellence
in teaching, scholarly productivity, and active participation in service to the
department, college, and university.
