Assistant Professor, Counseling Psychology

The Psychology Department at Towson University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Counseling Psychology, beginning August 2014, and contingent upon funding.
Applicants must possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and show potential for a
productive research program. Candidates must hold a doctorate in Psychology from an APA approved program and be license-eligible in the state of Maryland. The successful candidate primarily will be responsible for teaching graduate courses in the Counseling Psychology program such as Career Development, Advanced Abnormal Psychology, Advanced Counseling Techniques, and Assessment in Counseling as well as undergraduate courses in the clinical area, such as Abnormal Psychology, Tests and Measurements, and Systems of Psychotherapy. Graduate courses will be taught in the late afternoon and evening. Faculty also will have opportunities for developing specialty courses in their area of expertise. Areas of research interests are open. Student advising and participation in Department, College and University committees also are expected.
