Position:
The Department of Early Childhood Education at Towson University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in early childhood education on campus and at off-campus locations, supervise practicum and internship experiences, and collaborate with Professional Development Schools and agencies in the surrounding communities. Expertise in curriculum at the pre-primary and primary grades, early literacy / reading, and technology is required. Professional teaching experience in Pre-K through third grade, Head Start and/or other inclusive early childhood settings required. Previous college teaching is desirable. The programs in the Department of Early Childhood Education have received Nationally Recognized decisions by NAEYC. There are nearly 400 undergraduates and 200 graduate students in the Early Childhood programs.
Desired Qualifications:
Applicants must have a doctorate in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field, and possess a strong commitment to teaching, demonstrated potential for research and scholarship, and a willingness to pursue available external funding. ABDs may apply if all requirements for the degree will be completed within six months of starting the position. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
