The Department of Elementary Education invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position.
Position:
The primary responsibility for the position is the instruction of required graduate courses in the M.Ed. ELED Program with possible program expansion. Additional responsibilities include admitting and advising duties for M.Ed. ELED candidates and students. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
All candidates must have an earned terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Elementary Education, Teacher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field; evidence of research and scholarly writing; 3 years of successful classroom teaching experiences in grades 1-8; a record of successful instruction in graduate courses; student advising experience; excellent communication and human relations skills; demonstrated proficiency with educational technology; evidence of working with diverse student populations.
The Program:
The M.Ed. in Elementary Education degree program is an advanced curriculum and instruction program for experienced, certified teachers. The program emphasizes curriculum development and evaluation, instructional design, scholarship and research, and multicultural education. The program is offered both on campus and off campus (as cohort groups developed with area school district personnel). The M.Ed. program is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education.
