The Department of Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology & Deaf Studies at Towson University invites applications for a full time 10 month tenure track faculty position at the
assistant or associate professor level beginning August 21, 2013.
Primarily doctoral level class instruction, scholarly research activities, supervision of Au.D. student thesis projects, academic advising, and university and community/professional
service. In addition, responsibilities may include supervision of clinical services, and mentoring writing abilities in undergraduate and graduate students. Involvement in
inter-professional activities is also encouraged.
Applicants with expertise in the following areas will be given preference: vestibular diagnosis and rehabilitation, hearing aids, and/or anatomy and physiology of the central
auditory system. However, other areas of specialization will also be considered. Requirements: Ph. D. in audiology, certification as an Audiologist and eligible for Maryland
licensure. ABD candidates are eligible but all degree requirements must be completed by Feb 1, 2014 and these candidates will be hired at the instructor level until all degree
requirements are met. For the Associate level, candidates must meet all criteria for this rank at Towson University; Proficiency in American Sign Language is not required, but
any level of ASL ability will be viewed positively.
Tenure-track appointment for the 2013-2014 academic year. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience.
The Department of Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology and Deaf Studies currently has 22 full-time faculty who teach over 300 undergraduate majors across two baccalaureate
degree programs: Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and Deaf Studies. The department’s graduate programs enroll over 90 students in the master’s degree program in
Speech-Language Pathology, and over 40 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program. Towson University offers excellent fringe benefits including leave, health and
