The Department of Accounting at Towson University, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position
at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2014.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a PhD/DBA or equivalent in Accounting or a PhD/DBA in a related area with professional certification in accounting. ABD applicants will be considered if all degree requirements are expected to be fulfilled by February 1, 2015. Applicants should have a record of, or demonstrate the potential for, a balanced commitment to excellent teaching productive
research, and active service.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, and university and community service. Towson University is the only University System of Maryland institution to have AACSB accreditation for both its business and accounting programs. Our greatest needs are in auditing and financial accounting, but all areas will be considered. The teaching load is nine credit hours per semester for the first three years, which will be continued with the applicant's maintenance of AACSB academically qualified status. Salary and benefits are competitive.
The College of Business and Economics:
The College of Business and Economics (CBE) enrolls over 3000 students and is accredited by the AACSB for
both its business and accounting programs. It conducts undergraduate business programs with majors/concentrations
in an array of fields, and jointly offers an MBA program and an MS in Accounting and Business Advisory Services
program with the University of Baltimore. The CBE also offers international programs in Panama and Vietnam. For
