The School of Emerging Technologies and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Towson University invites applications for two
full-time, non-tenure track clinical assistant professor positions in the Applied Information Technology (AIT) program.
The positions require industry and professional experience in information technology. Successful applicants will have a doctorate in an
technology related field; candidates with a master’s degree and exceptional industry experience equivalent to a doctorate will be considered.
The selected candidates will be expected to teach graduate courses in the Applied Information Technology program, supervise graduate students,
and be professionally active. The Applied Information Technology program includes a Master of Science degree and post-baccalaureate certificates
in Database Management Systems, Information Security and Assurance, Information Systems Management, Internet Application Development, Networking
Technologies, and Software Engineering. Candidates in all areas of specialization will be considered, and teaching excellence is expected. Preference
will be given to candidates with interests in cyber security and candidates with the demonstrated capability to attract external funding.
The School of Emerging Technologies:
The School of Emerging Technologies collaborates with the Department of Computer and Information Sciences. The Department has 38 full-time faculty members
and offers an ABET/CAC-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, a Bachelor of Science
degree in Information Technology, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, and a Doctorate of Science in Information Technology. Enrollment exceeds 1,300
students, with more than 300 students studying for the M.S. in Applied Information Technology. Since 2002, Towson University has been a designated Center of
Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
