Position:
The Towson University UTeach Program seeks a Master Teacher of Mathematics, a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track, clinical instructor in the Department of Mathematics. The successful candidate will teach STEM education courses, manage field placements, and serve as a liaison
between the College and local school districts.

Responsibilities:
Master teachers teach and formally support field-based courses, observing and providing written and oral feedback to evaluate and help students improve their skills throughout the program. They manage field experiences, working with local school district teachers and administrators to ensure appropriate field placements and productive teaching experiences for UTeach students and arrange payment for mentor teachers. Master teachers are active in program recruitment, manage student internships, and advise students. They are knowledgeable about what new teachers encounter and provide ongoing career support for UTeach graduates, particularly during their first two years of induction into the profession.

Requirements:
The successful applicant must have a minimum of a master’s degree, preferably in mathematics education or mathematics; at least three years of exemplary secondary public school teaching experience; be recognized for educational leadership; and demonstrate skill and passion for working with students and novice teachers. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.

Salary:
The full-time, 12-month, clinical instructorship offers competitive salary and full university benefits that include excellent health, life insurance, and retirement plans; tuition remission; and 22 days of annual leave, 14 holidays, personal and sick days. The position is contingent on funds being available at the time of hire.
