The Department of Family Studies and Community Development is accepting applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor to assist with program expansion at the Northeastern, Maryland campus of Towson University. This position includes a balance of teaching, service internship supervision and program development.

Academic preparation, community participation, and integration of the two through internship and service learning are core requirements for Family and Human Services majors and central to the mission and vision of the Department of Family Studies and Community Development. Embedded in the internship/service learning program is a distinct focus on community engagement, which serves to link the academic unit to the metropolitan community while enhancing student learning. Applicants must possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and will be responsible for teaching a variety of human services and field-based courses. In addition, the individual must have five years of recent and ongoing experience through professional engagement in community agencies. An earned doctorate is preferred but not required. The Graduate degree should be in a human services field.

The Department of Family Studies and Community Development provides academic preparation in family life education through a major in family and human services. Students select one of four tracks to focus their studies: services for children and youth, human services, nonprofit leadership or introduction to child life. All students are eligible for provisional certification in Family Life Education upon completion of the major. In addition, we offer graduate coursework leading to a master's degree in Child Life, Administration, and Family Collaboration and a post baccalaureate certificate in Family-Professional Collaboration, and a Bachelor's degree in Family Science.
