Assistant Professor in Literacy
Department of Educational Technology and Literacy
College of Education

The College of Education is seeking candidates with doctorates in a targeted educational discipline or closely allied field and at least three years teaching experience in a Pk-12 setting.

Assistant Professor in Literacy with the Educational Technology and Literacy Department for undergraduate and master’s and doctoral courses related to reading assessment and reading disabilities; acquisition of writing skills, digital acquisition of literacy skills, literacy/technology integration and adoption of educational technology in English/Language Arts instruction in grades

Pk - 6.  Understanding and expertise in English/Language Arts; Pk-12 literacy, writing and disciplinary literacy is necessary.

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, work closely with interns, teachers, and students integrating inquiry and practice in the context of professional development schools; collaborate with colleagues across the college and region and demonstrate knowledge of the Common Core Standards and instructional implications of PARCC assessments, and be current in educational technology and digital teaching and learning.

A doctorate in early childhood literacy or a closely allied field and at least three years successful teaching experience in a Pk-12 setting, experience as a Certified Reading Specialist and scholarly expertise in literacy theory and acquisition, methods of teaching reading and writing, and related research.
