Assistant Professor, Organic Chemistry

Applicants are invited for a tenure-track position starting Fall 2014. Ph.D. in organic chemistry or closely related field required; post-doctoral experience highly desirable.

Applicants should possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduate students and to pursue external funding. Typical teaching load is 18 contact hours (six courses)/year, with primary teaching responsibility in organic chemistry.

The Department of Chemistry:
The Chemistry Department is ACS accredited, with 18 tenured or tenure track faculty, actively engaged in externally funded research involving undergraduates and graduate students. The Department enrolls about 400 undergraduates in Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry and Chemistry Secondary
Education and 45 graduate students in the Masters in Forensic Science. The Department supports the undergraduate and graduate Environmental Science programs and undergraduate Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics program.
