Transferring Students Starting in Spring 2013

Congratulations on your admission to Towson. We look forward to having you join our campus community this January at the Transfer Program. Before you do anything else, please submit your enrollment contract and $300 deposit to Undergraduate Admissions if you have not already done so. This task is necessary to finalize your enrollment before continuing with the next steps listed below.

Register for the Transfer Program (see additional information below).

Transfer Program - Post Advising Evaluation

All students who attended the Transfer Program are asked to complete our online program evaluation at the conclusion of their afternoon advising session. Please click here to fill it out.

Now that you have submitted your enrollment contract and $300 deposit to the university, you will begin to follow a timeline for all the steps required to transition you to Towson. Follow the steps outlined below and use the resources on this page to stay on track.

1. Review the To Do List for Transferring Students
This online publication details the steps you should complete to be prepared for the Transfer Program and beyond. Please note - there is no hardcopy version of the To Do List.

2. Activate your Towson University email account
All official electronic communication from the university will be sent to this account, including information regarding your orientation, class registration, and tuition bill. Get in the habit of checking it regularly!

3. Send in Final Transcripts and View Your Transfer Evaluation
Be sure to send all final transcripts to Admissions at least two weeks prior to your Transfer Program Part I date so that all credits are included on your transfer evaluation. You should also view your online transfer evaluation before the Transfer Program (Login to Peoplesoft, select "Self-Service", then "Student Center", then “Transfer Credit Report).

4. Review Academic Program Requirements and Register for the Transfer Program
While you probably have a good idea of the major you wish to pursue, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the specifics of your academic program here at Towson. Be sure to use the online 2010-2011 University Catalog* to look up all the critical information that you need to know before registering for a Transfer Program date (see below for more information about the Transfer Program).

*All students transferring into Towson are under the 2010-2011 University Catalog.

Section Header - The Transfer Program

The Transfer Program is a two-part orientation designed to assist you with your transition to life at TU. You are required to attend both parts. You will need to go online to our reservation site to select the dates that you will attend the Transfer Program. Please note – this reservation site is only used to schedule the date that you will come to campus for the Transfer Program; this site is NOT for your class registration. You will register for classes during Part I of the Transfer Program.

Part I of the Transfer Program is designed to address specific academic and logistic components of your transition to Towson. You will be required to register for a date that corresponds to your intended academic major. If you are undecided, please contact Academic Advising. Please note: only students who have submitted their enrollment contracts to the university will be permitted to register.

On each day of the Transfer Program Part I there will be an orientation session for parents, family members, and other guests. You will indicate their plan to attend while completing your Transfer Program reservation.

Part II of the Transfer Program takes place before classes begin and consist of a two-hour conference style program. You are required to attend the conference portion of Part II of the Transfer Program. You will register for the conference online when you make your reservation for Part I. Sessions will be offered on the following topics:

  • academic success
  • personal health and wellness
  • financial resources
  • jobs and internships
  • getting involved at Towson

If you are unable to attend either portion of the Transfer Program, please contact New Student Programs.
