Fieldwork
Level II Fieldwork
Students spend at least six months (a minimum of 980 hours)
in Level II Fieldwork where they are expected to apply theories,
knowledge and skills commensurate with the entry-level
qualifications of a professional occupational therapist.
Students typically complete two full-time 3-month
Level II Fieldwork experiences. An optional level II specialty
fieldwork may also
be completed. The content must cover a variety of disabilities
and age groups. One fieldwork focuses primarily on clinical
work with clients who have psychosocial disorders, the other
focuses on clients with physical performance problems. The
Department has contracts with sites throughout the United States
and abroad. Many sites are available in the Baltimore-Washington
area and throughout Maryland. Our full-time Fieldwork
Administrator's primary responsibility is to work with students
to secure fieldwork sites.
