Pre-Occupational Therapy
Prior to being considered for admission into the Combined
BS/MS program in occupational therapy, you must fill out a
supplemental application and complete a series of prerequisites. During this process, you are considered a
"Pre-Occupational Therapy Major."
It is important to declare your major as " Pre-Occupational Therapy" when you enter
Towson University so that you are assigned to the appropriate adviser. Your Pre-OT year is
considered the first year of the Combined BS/MS program. If you are accepted into the program, you will begin
occupational therapy courses in the Fall semester of your second
year.
Prerequisite Coursework
Candidates must obtain a B- or better in the following prerequisites.
Biology for the Health Professions (BIOL 190) or
Cellular Biology (BIOL 201) or Human Anatomy and Physiology
I (BIOL 213)
Note:*Additional
faculty tutoring is available during faculty office hours, as
listed in your syllabus; additional peer-tutoring is available
on an appointment basis in the Science Tutoring Center in SM
538.
For students currently taking Biology 190, tutoring is available. The schedule
is posted on Towson University's Academic Achievement Center's
website.
