"Education Meets the Workforce” are quarterly video segments highlighting one or two of our interns or graduate students. DECO consistently employs multiple interns to work on a wide range of projects that both benefit our clients and provide hands on work experience for our Towson Students. The videos are produced and directed by members of the DECO Integrated Marketing Team, Jenn Lake and Nicole Schiraldi.
CAIT Intern
Interview with a Center for Applied IT intern that features her experience working with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) banner advertisement program.
Interview with several Center for GIS (CGIS) interns about their experience working with data collection for the Maryland Broadband Map and other GIS-related projects.
MCCEI Intern
Interview with a TU College of Business and Economics student about his experience working with the Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation (MCCEI). MCCEI promotes the importance of the construction industry in Maryland by providing resources and creating partnerships.
DECO Interns
Interview with Lindsey Meyer, TU in the Community Graduate Assistant, and Nicole Schiraldi, CUMU Student Coordinator, on their experiences working in DECO. Lindsey worked with the TU in the Community website and focused on supporting faculty and staff on adding their projects and profiles. Nicole managed the CUMU membership database, processed the financial disbursements and revenues, organized the monthly e-newsletter, and was essential to the success of the organization that is headquartered in DECO.
RESI ISS Interns
Interview with a Amber Riethmuller, RESI ISS intern, on her work with the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) website. Amber is overseeing the marketing and management for banner advertisements on the SDAT website. Dawn Bott published a blog post describing the internship as a great learning opportunity to gain "real-world work experience" while significantly contributing to an important project for a RESI ISS client.
TowsonGlobal Interns
Interview with two TowsonGlobal interns that worked with clients in Towson University’s international incubator during the Fall of 2009. TowsonGlobal helps bridge the way for entrepreneurial enterprises to find success in the global economy. The Center accomplishes this by providing businesses with a wide range of support needed to flourish in today’s competitive global environment, such as office facilities, business counseling, and workshops. These interns are all current Towson University students in our College of Business and Economics.
Interview with two of our Building STEPS interns that worked with our Center for Applied IT and RESI-Information Systems Solutions units over the summer of 2009. Building STEPS is non profit headquartered on our campus that provides Baltimore City High Schools juniors and seniors with internships and hands-on activities to expose them to science and technology fields.
