Film Strip

Bringing the Silver Screen to Maryland

The Maryland Film Industry Coalition commissioned a study with RESI Applied Economics and Human Services (RESI-AEHS) to conduct an analysis of the film and video industry in Maryland. In addition, RESI-AEHS was tasked with finding the film and video industry's current employment concentration and the estimated level of employment needed in order to induce more film and video companies to set up permanent residency in the state.

Strategic Planning on your mind? Check out what RESI-ISS has been up to!

Two Maryland Agencies have recently contracted with RESI Information Systems Solutions (ISS) to develop their strategic plans for the next five years. Through interviews and workshops, participants in the strategic planning process identified initiatives that they believed would enable the Agency to meet its mission and vision objectives within five years.

Calculating the Geography of Crime. Can mathematics be used to help solve serial crimes?

Towson researcher Mike O'Leary and the Applied Mathematics Laboratory have received two grants from the National Institute of Justice to develop a mathematical algorithm that can estimate the location of the home base of a serial criminal based on the locations of the offender's crime sites..

TU redesignated as an EDA University Center by Commerce Department

For a second consecutive competitive cycle, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration has designated Towson University an EDA University Center and has awarded TU grants totaling $300,000 for the next three years.

DECO supports Maryland Department of Assesments and Taxation Web Presence

For the almost 8 years RESI Information Systems Solutions has worked with SDAT to make the information and documents that support processes available to the citizens of Maryland via the Internet. To accomplish this RESI has developed a suite of Internet applications which are accessed through SDAT's website.
