Center for Applied IT (CAIT)
About CAIT
The Center for Applied IT was formed over 20 years ago to serve the education and training needs of the Baltimore region. In 2011, the center merged with the Information Systems Solutions (ISS) group to leverage the opportunities of combining training and IT business solutions.
Towson University began offering IT business solutions in 1989 as database and programming professionals providing services to the Regional Economic Studies Institute (RESI) at the University of Baltimore. In 1996 the team moved with RESI to Towson University and began providing a broader set of IT services to the business and government communities, and eventually became independent from RESI. We are self-funded through client contracts and as part of Towson’s Division of Economic and Community Outreach (DECO), have access to the full resources of Towson University.
Our staff of full-time professionals includes project managers, business process consultants, systems analysts, software designers and developers, and database developers. We work with our sister organization, the DECO Data Center, to host and support many of the web applications that we develop. We are proud of our long tradition of providing quality service to our customers.
