About TheCourse
The Project Management Institute (PMI®) defines project management as "the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet the project objectives." The 56-hour Project Management Certification preparation course offered by Towson University at various locations around Maryland and nationwide provides a foundation in the disciplines and best practices of professional project management.
TheCourse thoroughly prepares participants for the PMI® certification exam by covering the material in the PMI® Guide to the PMBOK®, reviewing essential general management topics, and providing explanations, examples, references, and insight into numerous tangential topics, such as Six-Sigma concepts, Value Engineering, and Critical Chain Scheduling.
We offer TheCourse in a number of scheduling options.Following the path of a project from initiation through planning, execution, control, and closing, TheCourse covers the processes described in the PMBOK® Guide, and additionally addresses the use of Project Management software Following successful completion of the program, participants receive a continuing education certificate for 56 contact hours (5.6 Continuing or Professional Education Units – CEUs or PDUs).
TheCourse can also be taken in smaller components, such as an intense 4-day program that can be customized to be delivered directly on site or at one of our convenient locations.

Registration for the Open Enrollment Course at various locations around Maryland is $2,495 and includes texts, access to the on-line version of TheCourse, a copy of TheTest, certificates (CEU’s/PDU’s) and materials.
Registration for the On-Line Course offered with 24/7 enrollment is $895 and includes texts, a copy of TheTest, certificates (CEU’s/PDU’s) and materials.
