Center for Homeland Security

About Us

The Center for Homeland Security (CHS) is one of Towson University’s outreach units which are experienced and valued organizations that provide program management and analysis, consulting, specialized education and training, applied research, and information technology solutions to Federal, state and local government agencies, and private industry. CHS is home to an experienced group of professionals providing its clients superior quality work, on time performance and unparalleled responsiveness.

Specifically, The Center for Homeland Security at Towson University has a staff of expert analysts, researchers, and homeland security and emergency preparedness practitioners and the ability to leverage additional faculty, graduate student, and researcher expertise from the eight Colleges and over 30 Departments at the University. The exceptional management team utilizes creative and proven teaming strategies for providing in depth, specialized expertise, and surge capabilities to provide effective implementation of our technical and non-technical solutions. This capability allows CHS to provide multi-disciplinary expertise and the highest project quality under even the most aggressive schedules. The Center for Homeland Security and Towson University has the demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative solutions under the most critical time constraints with a minimum of startup and embedded overhead costs.

As importantly, CHS has many close ties with federal, state, and local government, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and other educational institutions which are not readily resident or available to other organizations.

Towson University is a designated National Security Agency National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Security and Assurance Education and is also recognized as a Center of Academic Excellence by the Department of Homeland Security.

Vision

The vision of CHS is to become a recognized and respected center for homeland security education, training, research, and scholarship particularly in the National Capital Region of the country by 2010. Central to this vision is the commitment to increase research and scholarly activities, developing innovative training and graduate education,

Director

Bob PriceLTC (Ret.) Robert (Bob) Price is the Director of the Center for Homeland Security (CHS) for Towson University.
