Business Process Consulting and Technical Writing
 Organizations face the challenge of ensuring that effective communication occurs among employees and customers. Documents that clearly explain the organization’s business processes—both existing and planned—provide a valuable tool for meeting that challenge.
RESI’s Business Process Consulting and Technical Writing Group documents processes to help organizations communicate effectively. Our documentation usually includes both narrative and visual depictions of a particular process, with just enough detail to meet the needs of the reader. Our documentation process involves:
- Reviewing existing documentation
- Interviewing persons with knowledge of the process
- Researching other methods to learn why the process is needed as well as how it is structured
- Working closely with employees to further learn about the process
We have expertise in creating a wide variety of document formats that are developed with the target audience in mind. We will work with you in first determining what YOUR organization needs and then provide appropriate analysis and documentation. Examples of documentation that may be provided to you include:
- Step-by-step procedural narrative – can vary greatly from high-level “customer” versions to detailed SOPs
- Work flow diagrams with complementary narrative – enhances the document’s usefulness and comprehension
- User manuals
- Policy statements/manuals
- Requests for Proposal (RFP) or Statements of Work to be included in RFPs
- Grant applications or other proposals
- Performance statements – goals, measurable objectives and metrics
- Data dictionary
- Business rules
- System test plans or other quality assurance protocols
