EDA University Center

The US Department of Commerce designated Towson University’s Regional Economic Studies Institute (RESI) as an EDA University Center. The Department of Commerce establishes Centers around the country to generate jobs, help retain existing jobs, and stimulate industrial and commercial growth in economically-distressed areas of the United States.
The objectives of Towson’s EDA University Center include:
- Provide economically distressed areas of Maryland with access to economic research and economic impact analyses;
- Assist economically distressed areas by developing projects to create jobs that pay well and are technology-related; and
- Provide eligible companies within economically distressed areas with access to TEDCO’s technology transfer programs.
The Department of Commerce designated Towson’s EDA University Center to serve the areas of Baltimore City and Western Maryland, including Garrett, Allegany and Washington Counties.
The Center will provide technical assistance, applied research, and disseminate information in order to stimulate and enhance economic development. Please contact the Center if we can help you with a project.
Using faculty, students and many other types of University assets, the EDA University Center will serve clients by providing the following types of services:
