Conditional Tenses - Exercise 16

Directions:  In the blank below each sentence, write the correct form of the verb in parenthesis.  You may add auxiliary verbs will, would, have and had as needed.  When you are finished, click  the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

1. If she left earlier each day, she (arrive) on time.
    

2 . You would have seen a stop sign if you (drive) on Route 70.
    

3.  George (help) if he knew you needed him.
    

4.  If you tie the knot later today, the rope (keep) the planter from falling.
    

5.  The firefighters would have saved the boy if the bedroom (be) accessible.
    

6.  If the shoes had been larger, I (be) more comfortable.
    

7.  In the future, the light (shine) more brightly if you remove the lampshade.
    

8.  Theo usually shuts the windows if it (rain).
    

9.  If Mary had helped, you (finish) the work sooner.
    

10. If the weather had been nicer, we (play) outdoors.
