Conditional Tenses - Exercise 18

Directions:  In the blank below each sentence, write the correct form of the verb in parenthesis.  You may add auxiliary verbs will, would, have and had as needed.  When you are finished, click  the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

1. If Tony had any sense at all he (come) into the house.
    

2 . Mel (play) his bridge hand more carefully if he had known the rules of the game.
    

3.  If she had used a microphone, more people (hear) her.
    

4.  If you were shorter, the dress (fit) you.
    

5.  If the disc jockey plays that song tomorrow, many people (enjoy) it.
    

6.  She (arrive) on time if she had worn her watch.
    

7.  I (listen) to the news if I had a radio.
    

8.  If we had a nickel for each mistake we made, we (be) rich by now.
    

9.  I (say) something if I had known about the accident.
